Kiddos Update

I try to do this every month but I haven't actually done it since May.  I have been taking a few notes, so here it goes

Cade:

June:
  • Cade likes to carry stuff.  He carried a full gallon of milk from the top of the stairs to our apartment door--like 20 feet.
  • Once we got all of the groceries inside, I was feeding Cami and he put the food away with out me asking him to.  Do you think that will continue?
  • Cade did really well on our plane rides out to WA.  He had to sit on a lap the whole time.  At one point he was sitting with me and we dropped a little pretzel.  It landed in the aisle where I couldn't reach it.  Kirk was holding a sleeping Cami and couldn't get it either.  Luckily we were almost to the airport because Cade kept saying "ah-poo" (vacuum) over and over again, wanting me to clean it up.
  • Cade loved staying at Scott's house and playing with their new puppy, Marley.  Scott showed him his vacuum.
  • Cade stayed with my Aunt  Dar for an entire day.  He did pretty well, especially after she gave him the binky.  He loved the hot wheels road they had that shot cars off of it.
  • Cade loves to go to Sportsman's Warehouse with Kirk.  He likes to see the crickets and duck decoys.  He also tries out every camp chair they have on display.
  • My mom brought Cade a Thomas the train shirt when she came to our house.  Whenever he sees that shirt he wants to take off the one he is wearing and put it on.
  • We have a picture on the wall of Jesus holding a lamb.  Cade knows this.  When he looks at the picture he says "Jesus" "Moo" and I say "that's not a cow!"  then he says "baa."  He likes to tease us.
  • Cade can count to 4 and pick out blue, green, yellow, and purple pom poms.  Whenever you ask him what color something is he says blue.
  • Cade loves swimming!  He got so excited to go at our apartment.  I wish we could have gone more often.  I couldn't take the kids together and so we had to wait for Kirk.  We managed to go once or twice a week though.

    July:
  • Cade is doing much better playing with other kids and being less scared of everyone he meets
  • One day at lunch Daniel (Lindsey's kid) hit the table and said "holy macaroni"  Cade thought this was so funny and will laugh his head off if you do it.  He often hits the table and tries to say macaroni.
  •  Cade is starting to put 2 words together
  • Cade can walk down stairs without touching anything when he wants to.
  • We were walking to the car through a parking lot at the family reunion.  It had rained earlier that day and there were several puddles on the ground.  Cade was stomping in the puddles.  Then, I looked over at him and he was laying on his stomach in the puddle.  Oh no.  I told him that was yucky and to stand up.  He was covered in black water.  Luckily it came out of his clothes and we were on our way home anyway.
  • Cade loved all the attachments for my parents vacuum so much he slept with them once or twice.
  • He also loved picking raspberries at my parents house.  We didn't ever give him so many he didn't want more.
  • He loves garages and pushing buttons to make the doors go up and down.
  • Cade has started nodding his head yes, but does it very slow and exaggerated.
  • We went to 7 peaks one day with my family.  Cade loved it!  We took him on a few of the big slides and every time we got to the bottom he would yell "again!"  We were able to leave Cami with Kirk's mom which made it way more fun for me too.
  • We were eating French fries one night and Cade had one with a bend in it. He called it a tractor and then he put it in his "garage mouth."  We picked up on that and got him to eat a lot more by putting his food in the garage mouth.

Cami has changed so much in the last bit!

June:
  • Cami slept 10-11 hours a night for most of June.  Love it!
  • She has no schedule besides that.  She is generally up about 1.5 hr at a time and bedtime is between 7 and 7:30
  • First airplane trip when we went to WA to look for housing. We had 4 flights (with the layovers) and Cami slept through 3 of them and cried at least half of the 4th.
  • She had her first non-grandparent babysitter when we left the kids with my Aunt Dar in WA.
  • She started trying to roll from her back to front and can move in a circle.  She kicks her legs over and over.  Her shoulders and head stay still, but her hips move around.
  • She talks all of the time
  • She started giggling, so CUTE!
  • She went to the doctor for a 4 month check-up.  She is 14.5 lbs and 25.5 in long.  That was Cade's size at 2 months.  She cried the whole time the doctor was looking at her--stranger anxiety so early?
  • Cami puts everything in her mouth!

July:
  • Started supporting weight on legs July 3
  • Rolled front to back on July 7
  • Rolled back to front on July 9
  • Rolled over and over (front-back-front) July 19
  • She is a mover!
  • Moving totally messed up Cami's sleeping habits.  She started waking up at night again and I started feeding her again because that took 20 min and trying to get her back to sleep took an hour plus.  One night in Minnesota she was up 4 times!  By the end of the month we'd been at my parents house for 2.5 weeks and she was sleeping through once every few nights.
  • She is super smiling and giggly and just wiggles all over whenever people talk to her.  You just feel bad when you stop because she loves it so much!
  • She is a super happy baby and will lay on the floor looking at different toys and moving them around for a long time.
  • I attempted to feed her rice cereal.  I think it took about 4 tries before she ever swallowed any.
  • Cami started sucking on her toes.  I decided that this is a funny habit.  Her toes are clean though and she will have to stop eventually because she can't be that flexible for long!
  • Cami met her Grandpa Morris, Connor, Lindsey (and family), Melissa, Alan and Kristi this month.
  • Got sick again
  • Favorite toy was a Kirkland wipes container with the crinkly plastic
  • She is trying to sit up once in a while
  • She has a hard time in the car.  We drove 15 hours from Memphis to Minnesota and she never slept more than 30 min at a time.  Same went for the drive to Utah.
