- The biggest news is that Cade is day-potty-trained! He is doing great and has had only one accident in the last 7 days (I was putting Cami to bed and barely missed it). He tells me when he has to go and gets stickers. We tried nights for 5 nights. One was dry but the rest were wet or soaked. He was waking up crying at 5 am and wouldn't go back to sleep even with dry pajamas. We'll try again in a few weeks.
- Toilet story: One day Cade went poopy on the toilet and then wanted to stand up to go potty. He was doing his business when he suddenly pushed and a piece of poo shot out of his bum and landed on the floor. I thought it was hilarious, but couldn't laugh and told him how poopy goes in the toilet.
- Cade asks if it is dark outside, because he knows that he goes to bed when it is dark. Then we started talking about if the sun was up yet in the morning, because then it gets light. He says "sun pop, mommy?" It took me a bit to figure out where sun pop came from. It is in the Hungry Catapillar book. The book says something like "the sun came up and pop, out the egg came the catapillar."
- One of Cade's favorite things to do is play in his bed with Cami. They jump around and Cami crawls on Cade and they both love it.
Cade bit holes through his binkies (he uses 2) early this month. They don't work very well with holes. We had a few nights with lots of crying before he fell asleep. Currently, he is down to 1 binky but it is more of a tube than a binky because the top is all gone. He likes to hold it in bed. - Cade loves to help me clean the bathroom. He gets his own rag and scrubber and climbs in the shower and wipes everything down.
- We were on a walk one day and Cade filled his pockets with pinecones and dry leaves. I thought it was cute one time because he was walking down a path that had lots of rocks (gravel) on it. All of a sudden he stopped and picked up a rock and said "rock, Mommy!"
- We were going to Skype with my parents and as it was loading, Cade said over and over "Hi Grandpa, no hi Grandma."
- Cade can do somersaults now. The first one he did was on Skype and I didn't know he could do it. Apparently my cousin Amber taught him.
- Cade has successfully stayed in nursery 2 weeks now. We left him screaming and came back to check 10 min later and he was calm. He stayed happy the rest of the time. Yay!
- The lawn mowers came one last time last week. I was surprised because they hadn't come for a few weeks. They always park the trailer with the supplies in our cul-de-sac. Cade and I went out and walked around so he could see the mowers up close while the guys were doing something else. They had left a big pile of grass in the street. Cade kept telling me "mess, Mommy."
- Whenever he refers to something he wants to do or if it is time for something, Cade calls it a day. Such as: night-night day, eat day, walk day, outside day.
- One day I told Cade no for some reason and he started crying and said "no see Mommy" because he was mad. I told him to go sit in my room until he felt better and wanted to see me again. He went and sat on the bed for a few minutes and came back happy.
| Cade likes things to be in order and lines up our shoes by the door all of the time. |
