Cami--7 months

Notice the sidewalk chalk she crawled through on her shirt!
Ignore the mismatching clothes though--it was laundry day :)
  • Cami is now 7 months old.  She is so fun to have around.  She is usually really happy--unless she is hungry or tired.  She is a mover and into lots of stuff too.
  • Cami can crawl across a room really quick.  She isn't totally on her hands and knees yet, but she is close.  Whenever she sees our back door open, she tries to escape--once with only a diaper on.  When she is hungry and I am making her a bottle, she crawls in the kitchen and whines and grabs my feet.
  • Cami is a very determined girl.  You can tell when she sees something she wants to go get and she won't stop until she has figured out how to get there.

  • She has so much energy!  Cami doesn't stop wiggling--ever.  unless she is asleep.  She is always diving out of my arms to grab something.  She does laps around our couch and explores behind chairs and under stools.
  • Cade loves to build roads and Cami loves to destroy roads.  We call her King Kong Cami.  When she sees Cade's road, she crawls over super fast and grabs it over and over again, throwing the pieces.  Cade and I yell "King Kong!"  and Cade laughs and usually destroys the rest of the road.  Luckily he doesn't get mad.

Get the road King Kong!

  • Cami loves cords of any kind, paper and shoes.  We have to keep these things far away from her!
  • Cami loves to jump on Cade.  She likes it when Cade pops his head up and says "boo" and if Cade looks at her and starts laughing, she will laugh too.
  • Cami drinks 4 6-oz bottles in a day and eats solids twice.  She has tried rice cereal, oatmeal, pears, banana, apples, carrots, beans, peas, squash, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, yogurt, graham crackers, cheerios and bread.  She loves to each cheerios and I give them to her while we eat our meals.  She is pretty good at getting food in her mouth.  I give her chunks of potato and peas and she can get those in pretty well too.

  • Cami goes to bed between 6:30 and 7 p.m. and usually wakes up between 6 and 6:30 (except for today when she woke up at 5!  I left her in bed and she talked to herself for an hour until I finally got up at 6)  She is still taking 3 naps.  Usually the first one is about 8:15 for an hour, the second one around 11:30 and a third but the time depends on how long the second one is.  Usually she'll sleep 1.5-2 hrs for the second one.
  • We weighed Cami a couple of weeks ago at Kirk's office at about 17 lbs 6 oz.  I haven't taken her to a doctor since her 4 month check in June because of insurance.  However, Cade was 23 lbs at his 6 month check, so she still has plenty of catching up to do.
