The Lattin's

Hope and Daniel Lattin were some of our good friends during dental school.  Daniel was in medical at the time and Hope worked at UCLA.  They have since had a baby, Cora, who is right between Cade and Cami.  Daniel finished up med school and an internship and now is completing residency in Portland.  Hope and I have talked lots over the last couple of years and we were so excited to find out that Portland and Richland are only 3.5 hours apart.  Kirk had this last weekend off and we decided to take a trip out to visit.

We left on Friday morning and arrived around lunch time.  Our kids did great in the car but were both tired when we got there.  So we spent the afternoon playing at home while all 3 kids slept off and on.  Then we decided to try a new place for dinner called something BBQ.  It was pretty good.  I bet we were quite the sight. . .Cami was in a high chair throwing cheerios all over, Cora was also in a high chair asking loudly for Daniel's water and Cade was climbing all over the benches.   It was fun though.  We went back to their place and hung out.  Hope needed to give Cora a bath and Cade and Cami really wanted to join in, so we just stuck them all in the tub.  After all the kids were in bed we stayed up and talked for a while.
Cami really wanted in on this action

Saturday morning we went to the zoo.  It was really fun.  We loved the zoo in Memphis and it was great to take Cade again.  He sat in the stroller for a while, but then ran all over for the last hour and a half.
Someone else was taking pictures!  I do exist!

I think Cade's favorite "animal" was the tractor doing construction.

Again, everyone was tired when we got back so Cami slept, then Cade and Cora slept, then Cami slept again. . .you know.  Kirk went and checked out a few fly shops in the afternoon.  Hope made banana bread and pizza while I talked to her and then we played outside a bit.

Sunday morning we had some yummy barley-oat pancakes and packed up and headed out.  We had a fun trip.  It was pretty slow, but with 3 little ones you can't do a whole lot.  I really enjoyed catching up and talking and hearing how life was going and meeting Cora.  Hopefully we can see them again soon!
